A meeting with Beastward on his way to Seattle

  Rain and Jamie walk into the luxury suite of Cullen Inc.'s private jet, where Edward is pacing a hole in the floor. 

   E:   Thank FUCK you're here. It's about fucking time.  I'm seriously losing my shit here.

   R: *A bit taken aback by the boy's enthusiastic reaction to their presence in the plane* Um...yes. Hello to you too, Edward.

    E : Yeah, yeah. Hi. Listen, I really need to ask you something.

    R: Ok...I'll answer your questions, but don't you think you should say hi to Jamie first?

    E: *Turns towards Jamie* Hi, sweets. It's nice to see you again.

    J: *Immediately transforms into shy fangirl* Hi, Edward.

    R: *Eyeroll*

    E: *Winks at Jamie then returns impatient gaze to Rain* Can I ask you now?

    R: Alright. What is it? *Shares dubious look with Jamie*

    E: Ok...you know what I'm gonna say to Isabella in Seattle, right?

    R: Yes...

    E: Can you like...tell me...how she's gonna react? Like, what the fuck is she going to say?

    R: *Sighs and shakes head while Jamie chuckles and looks at him indulgently* Edward. You know I cannot tell you that.

    E: C'mon! Ok, I know you don't want all these other fuckers to know but I won't tell them a thing. Just shake your head yes or no...*Waits for a reaction from Rain and gets agitated when he doesn't get any*  Fuck! You know I am losing my fucking my mind here. You know how fucking difficult this is for me.
    *When Rain doesn't budge, he puts on a sad face and turns to Jamie.*
    You know too right? Can you just give me a little hint? I mean, I completely fucked up with all this shit and the last time I saw her she asked me to get the fuck out of her life. Can you imagine how difficult this is for me? The anticipation is fucking killing me. Please, babe. Just tell me before I go crazy.

    J: *Totally taken by the Beastward puppy dog eyes, the floodgates release* Isabella isn't-

    R: Jamie! *Sighs and continues*  Edward, I can't just dole out the answers and tell you what will happen with Isabella. Right, Jamie?

    E: *Pinching bridge of nose but stops when Jamie's mentioned, knowing she has a soft spot he can play off of*

    J: ...Hmm? *Snaps out of staring* Oh! Right! Yes! Uh huh! *Nodding head repetitively*

    R: *Sigh* You didn't hear a word of that, did you?

    J: *Repetitive head nodding turns to immediate head shaking, eyes lower to floor* No, no I didn't.....

    E: Jamie, come to the cockpit with me. Let's go talk just you and me. *Throws angry glare at Rain while wrapping arm around Jamie's shoulder and starting to lead her away*    

    J: *Is now dead putty, being lead away by Edward* Okay...

    E: *Smiles mischievously*

    J: Wait. *stops and turns to Edward* I think Rain is right.

    E: What? I'm fucking pulling my hair out here! *illustrates by clutching at hair*       

                 

    J: *Strangled whimper* Not the hair....

    R: Ahem. *Pointed look at Jamie*

    J: *Shakes head, attempting to clear it* Right, um, right. I think Rain is right, Edward. You guys have been through so much, Edward. This is something you need to figure you between the two of you.

    E: *Looks pained and defeated*

    J: *puts hand on E's arm* You love her and she loves you. You'll figure this out. *sneaks glance at Rain, who is busy sipping Dom, courtesy of Cullen, Inc* But, you know, if she's not interested-

    R: JAMIE!!!

    J: *jumps back and shakes her head* Sorry, sorry. Don't know what came over me. Go to her, Edward. And tell her how you feel. All you can do is tell her how you feel.

    

  R: *throws Jamie an incredulous look and holds a glass out to her. Then turns to Edward and gives him a stern look*...Edward, stop behaving like the beast they say you are and sit down so we can talk. Many of these ladies have been waiting for a VERY long time for you to come to your senses. You are going to talk to them properly now.*Points to a chair opposite from her and Jamie*

    E: *Grumbles and flops down on the chair* Well where the fuck were they all this fucking time?? Lot of help they were to me!
  
    R: Don't take your anger out on them, Edward. They have shown a lot of support and sympathy for you and they have given Isabella a very hard time for breaking your heart.

    E: Well then they are just as fucked up as I am. Why the hell were they on Isabella's case? I am the asshole here. Tell them to back the fuck off of her. It's between her and me. None of their fucking business.

    R: Come on, Edward. What else do you expect? You were all half-cocked for 3 months...you had to know they would join you. With the kind of moping you've been doing, you have to know you'd have a sympathizer or two

    E: *armed with sarcasm* Oh, I'm sorry. Did I take too long in processing the second biggest motherfucking betrayal in my short life?! Pardon me if my rebound reflex is a bit rusty.

   R: Yes I understand that. But did you really have to dismiss Isabella without even listening to what she had to say for herself? And then not even attempt any kind of contact with her all this time?

    J: *mumbles something under breath*

  

   R: What was that, Jamie?

    J: Hmm? Nothing.

    R: No, no. What did you say?

    J: *sigh* Well, seems to me you're being a bit hard on him is all.

  

   R: *scoffs* Really, now?

    E: *crosses arms over chest and waggles eyebrows cockily at Rain*

    J: Look, all I'm saying is that there was hurt inflicted both ways. Yes, he should have heard her out but really, she knew his past. Maybe she shouldn't have waited so long to tell him. But you have to take into account how she must have dreaded his reaction, therefore delaying that particular revelation. *Jamie's limited attention span begins to stray* Hey Edward, ya got anything to munch on?

 
    R: *rolls her eyes at Jamie and turns to look at Edward*
  
    E: *rubbing temples with fingers and mumbling to himself* What a fucking mess. Nothing can ever just be motherfucking easy.
    
    R: Nothing worth it, anyways.
  
    E: *opens eyes and regards Rain thoughtfully. Sighs and leans back in chair. Nods at Jamie* She's right, you know. *interrupts Rain's attempt to interrupt* Isabella tried to tell me and I was too busy pouting like a little bitch. She hates me, I know it. And I fucking deserve it.

    J: *rolls eyes and swigs champagne* I didn't say all that, Edward. *blocks mouth from Edward's view and mouths to Rain* Emo much?

    R: *tries and fails not to snicker*

    E: I'm sitting right fucking here!

   R and J together: Sorry Edward. *Edward continues to glare.*

    R: Oh simmer down, Edward. Why don’t you save the dramatic proclamations for when you get to Seattle, hmm?

    E: *jumps up and starts pacing* That's just it! I'm fucking walking in blind! I have no idea what to expect. She told me to get out of her life! That doesn't exactly translate to "Please come and find me when you pull your head out of your ass!”

    J: *gigglesnort* Ass.

    R: Edward, sit down and try to relax. *thrusts platter of cookies at Jamie* And you. Pipe down and soak up the alcohol.

    J: *shoots up in chair and mock salutes Rain, taking cookies*

    R: *looks to Edward, who insists upon pacing* You're getting all worked up before it's necessary. You have no idea how Isabella will respond to you.

    E: *stops pacing and emits a sound akin to growling* But you DO!!! Why do I feel like we're talking in circles here?!?!?

    R: *inspects nails, not at all moved by Beastward's antics* I'm not serving up your HEA to you on a silver platter, Edward. You're gonna have to man up. You said you were pouting like a bitch before. Well, what are you doing now?

    E: *stops in tracks and faces Rain* Did...did you just call me a little bitch?

    J: *snorts, leading to a full on belly laugh*

    R: *snorts too* It's not like you haven't been called worse. *Mouths “beast” to Jamie*

    E: *catches their exchange* "I'm not motherfucking blind! *Goes red and points finger at Rain* And don't think I can't smell you all over that one too. Isabella would never fucking come up with something like that on her own!

    R: *shrugs* I neither confirm, nor deny. Look, we're getting off subject here-

    J: *Pipes up suddenly, mumbling* Fifty...sheesh…

    E: *looks at Jamie, confused* What?

    J: Oh nothing. It’s just that you've dropped the F Bomb about 50 times since we got here. *turns to Rain* Can't you filter him out or something? This can't lend well to his cause.

    R: *holds hands up in surrender* Don't look at me. That's all him.

    E: *looks at Jamie impatiently* Did you have…oh, I don't know...a fucking point?!

    J: *thrusts pointer finger in air* FIFTY ONE!

    R: *full on laughs*

    E: Well I'm glad you two are having a grand motherfucking time. It's only my heart and life on the line but really, as long as I've managed to make you fucking smile, that's what really matters here. *turns sharply just as Jamie opens her mouth* And can the motherfucking counting!!

    J: *hold hands up in defeat-struggling to contain smile*

    E: Whatever the fuck. You fuckers can think what you want, see if I give a fuck. Right now, the only person whose opinions I care about is fucking too far away and she doesn't have a problem with my language.

    R: Or so you think. *raises eyebrows*

    E: What? Why? What did she say to you? Did she say something? She doesn't like it when I swear? Why the FUCK hasn't she said anything to me? What else has she said to you? What else doesn't she like?

    R: *holds up hands* Whoa whoa whoa. Easy with the questions there, Beasty.

    E: *Edward narrows his eyes but lets it go.* C'mon. Please. Has she said anything else to you about what she doesn't like? Does she even like ANYTHING about me?

    R: *sigh* Edward, we've been over this. I'm not dropping hints. It's all on you and Isabella now. Sorry.

    J: *eyes Edward appreciatively* I bet there's a LOT of things about you she likes.

    E: *Ignores Rain completely and turns to Jamie.* Did she tell you something? What? What does she like?

    R: *focuses on Jamie incredulously* Are you drunk?

    J: *ignores Rain* I don't see the big deal here. I say you touch down in Seattle, find Little Miss Secret Keeper and lay it on the line. *stands and imitates Edward's voice* “Fuck this, Isabella! You lied, I overreacted. I motherfucking love you and you fucking love me too!!! Now come away with me and we shall get naked! Fuck, fuckity fuck!" *collapses into giggles*

    E: *regards Jamie calmly and turns to Rain* Why did you bring her again?

    R: She's supposed to keep me together. You know, put me straight if I go out of line and stuff. *throws dubious glance towards Jamie's giggling form*

    E: *look over at Jamie's drunken, giggling self* Clearly that was a well-thought out plan.

    R: Also, she wanted to come and she can be as annoyingly dramatic as you when she's begging for something she wants.

    E: *scoffs at Rain* Well it's good to see that someone's fucking begging got them somewhere!

    R: *tsk tsking Edward* You're still so thick-headed, even after a 3-month long temper tantrum and subsequent epiphany. Edward, the girl already told you she loves you. Why are you being this obtuse?
    
    E: Because! Don't you see?! I have no idea what Isabella I'm going to find in Seattle. She's been through so fucking much at the hands of my family. And she's so motherfucking good. But everyone has a limit. And I fucking pushed her and pushed her... *slumps into seat* What if it was one fucking push too far? *looks up to Rain, defeated* "Get out of my life.” She said that. Why the fuck would I expect her to want me?

    R: Yes she did say that. With good reason. And Edward, there is the very real possibility that she might actually say no. You have to be prepared for that outcome too.

    E: *looks at Rain as if she just slapped him*

    J: *chimes in, surprisingly sobered up* She's right. Looks to me like this is your chance to prove yourself. How important is she to you? Are you willing to let down your walls? To shed your pride and tell her how you feel and apologize for your wrong in it? All the time knowing that she could very well turn you away?

    E: Fuck. *Swipes his hands over his face and sits up straighter* Well then I guess this is fucking it huh?

   

   R: This is it, Edward. The only thing we can do now is wish you luck. Go get our girl.

    R and J clink champagne glasses and smile at Edward, who sighs and turns his face to stare out the window, waiting for the flight to land.

Alright, I was completely blown away when I read this yesterday. I just had to share it with the rest of you ladies. I love the depth to which she analyzes the actions of each character and I LOVE that she sees behind the obvious, and that she words her observations so well. Thank you, darling. You make it worth the effort and time it takes to write in layers. :D

"I read this twice and then out of curiosity went and skimmed some of the reviews on this chapter and was surprised to see how many people jumped on the "Hate Isabella" bandwagon.

Which is easy to do but in all honesty you have to look at the character study in this story before you're quick to put her into the nearest horror story to be eaten, lol.

Bella basically made friends with a dying woman who left everyone she knew or loved. Lizzie was the adult and Bella was a child / young adult with a very caring / protective nature. A lot of anger should be placed on Lizzie in a way because she sort of forced Bella into a situation where in order to protect her past mentor / friendship and give her memory honor, she's forced into a perspective where she's to blame for simply loving a family she spent years caring about before she even met them. LOL - why do I feel like I'm writing a review on an episode of Dramabeans here? Heeheheheh. It's all so Asian drama where you’re so hooked on it you feel like you’re in a Twilighted heroin addiction support group by the time you end a chapter and click to review! Damn I love it!~

Ok the Sophie and Edward scenes are brutal but they have to be and I thought given Sophie's view on Bella being a fairy and Edward kinda telling her she disappeared was brilliant in this story because in Edwards heart of hearts Bella was like a magical being. She appeared out of nowhere and like lifted a curse left on his heart and family. So of course the easiest explanation to a child and to himself is that she never really existed.

This pain / betrayal to Edward sort of throw him exactly back into the situation that happened with his mother: to lose someone he loves. He's kinda thrown back into a child like emotional reaction where he just lashes out and shuts down inside. And then he questions everything he ever thought or felt about her hating himself for allowing himself to love and put trust into her. Him tearing apart the rooms and every picture of her is sort of an outward view of how Edward himself is torn apart and destroyed on the inside so of course he's tearing apart every memory of her just like his heart is torn apart and destroyed on the inside. In many ways the things Edward loves most about Bella is her caring, protective, mothering nature. Which he has not had from anyone since Lizzie abandoned the family. Her leaving left a wake more damaging than a tsunami, that any coming to terms with a terminal illness ever could on her husband and children.

As the reader I'm not angry with either Bella or Edward in what they are both doing currently trying to cope with this situation. My anger is more towards Lizzie. Isn't it great that she could run and hide away with her illness from her own husband and children and then sort of adopt Bella as her replacement child? I mean basically she abandons her own child in the name of protecting them but completely misses out on their lives and accomplishments, but she's there to witness and shape Bella's life. She sees Bella graduation and gives her piano lessons even though she's ill, but she cannot be there to shape or love her own children? It's a little messed up there in her thinking. I would think that Carlisle, while reading her journals, might be a little angry with this. Even with his love and devotion to her being his wife this is such a selfish thing she has done. Her thinking she was protecting them all from pain didn't do so, all it did was sort of throw a crippling disease of pain that has been eating away at everyone she claimed to love when she left them all behind. Leaving a scar more disfiguring on them more than losing a parent to illness ever could.

Yes it brought Bella to them but at what price? It's sort of like a gift in getting Bella but also a gift that comes with a price in so many ways.

I really loved how in this closing of the chapter you gave Dr. C’s voice and perspective on his son and an outside view of Edward at this time, for down the line he's gonna be the only one who is gonna be able to voice to him what he needs and doesn't want to hear in order to face things.

It also gives the added perspective that Edward has not only lost his first love. He also is mourning the loss of his mother for the second time. And for the second time, he also had no last words he could say to her. Edward also seems to be channeling all the blame in this situation on himself, like somewhere in his mind he thinks his mother left him because of something he did and then Bella also left him for the same reason.

This was so telling in Bella's true nature:

'But then, I worry for her. She is too empathic. She puts herself through hell for the sake of others. She knew that she would have to lose me at some point, but she also knew that I am alone. So she pushed aside the idea of how tragic the outcome of such a friendship would be for her, just because she knew that I had needed someone."

With how rough Edward is right now and the dark place he is in. I wonder if Bella isn't in worse shape. Last we saw she went to Lizzie grave site in some mystery location. I wonder if Bella hasn't completely shut down in guilt and pain herself. Edward is barely functioning but I wonder if she's worse than he is. I keep thinking something bad is going to happen to her or with the three months passing without a word something is going on with her. It should be interesting to see what's coming next. As always I love this story and love to look at it from all angles.

Musings on Chappy 23: And the sun turned black

Hi girlies!

I was just reading through what you guys had to say about Chappy 23. Sorry about all the tears and the heartbreak. But it just means I managed to get through to you all somehow right? :)

So, most of you are really pissed at Isabella and at Lizzie and have some very colorful words to describe how much you hate that they lied to the guys. LMAO. Jeez, you guys are really protective of the Beast, aren't ya? And a few of you sorta kinda see where Bella and Lizzie are coming from but still think what they did was wrong. Some of you actually really stood up for Isabella and emphasized that the Cullens need to see that she was coming from a good place.

The whole point of this situation is that there's really no right or wrong. I can argue either way for the actions of both Lizzie and of Isabella, but at the end of the day I do think that Isabella was put in a very difficult situation by Lizzie. And being quite insecure in her role in the family dynamic of the Cullens as she was in the beginning, I see why she would feel like it wasn't her place to reveal a secret that Lizzie herself chose to keep from her own family. She wouldn't see it as her place. And later on, as she became closer to the family and to Edward, she would be afraid of losing it all if she came out with the secret. I will come back to this issue later in the story.

So remember how I warned you things would get rough for a while? Now you know, I really wasn't kidding. But but, great things come to those who have patience right?

And I will make you a promise. You shall be rewarded for your patience in delicious ways when you least expect it :D :D
